  • What does having a positive attitude then really boil down to, our thoughts, actions, patterns, habits, and behavior have us using, targeting and utilizing our energy and enthusiasm in a particular way.

We think, act and do…but what is the focus?

If you are mainly positive, you will be focused on good things, happy thoughts, and successful outcomes, seeing the glass half-full to an extent.
Negatively, you will be focusing on bad things, sad thoughts,
unsuccessful outcomes and act and behave negatively too.

Your goals and energy will not be focused and purposefully driven towards success, half-hearted at best.

There is an undeniable link between personal performance, confidence and even health and our positive thoughts. Matching, triggering neuro-chemical and physical responses, increased mental alertness and release of physical energy, improved respiration and circulation, boosts our abilities. The reverse is true, triggering the fight or flight
response and instinct when we are decisively negative. Which can lead to loss of energy, creativity, motivation and lower self-esteem.

You can effectively turn this habit of positive thinking into a power tool boosting not only your life, success and future, but also your health and wellbeing.

There are numerous self-help books, products and even training courses that you can take to learn more about endorphins for example and how positive thoughts and can and motivate your day, towards more positive outcomes.

When you think of music, you may think of Beethoven or Mozart, the Beatles or the Stones, or maybe Britney or Pink. You may love this music, but the only thing you can do with it is enjoy it. You can’t publish it. You can’t use it to jazz up your website. You can’t add it to your presentation at work or school. You can’t mix it, rap over it, and publish it under your own name.

If you are interested in finding music that you can use freely, you are actually looking for free public domain music. Unfortunately, however, free public domain music is difficult to find and ever harder to verify that is free for your use. A good place to start is PublicDomainEmpires.com, which not only shows you where to look for public domain material, but also tells you how you can use it not only to accessorize your creations, but also to create a profit by republishing the material yourself.

It is no secret that almost everyone has, at one time or another, downloaded a pirated song or a pirated movie. We have all made copies of songs, burned CDs, or loaned someone an album for them to record. This is illegal. If you have ever shown a movie in your home and charged someone even a penny to view it, you have broken the law.

So, it is important that the music you use on your website or presentations be free public domain music. By choosing music that does not belong to someone else, not only will you not be breaking the law, but you will also be ensuring that artists continue to create new material for us all to enjoy.

For most of us who were old enough to vote in the 1980s, we remember buying the same songs by the same artists, time and time again. We bought the album in our teens, and maybe the eight-track tape when we had our first car. When we got a little older, we bought the same album again in cassette form, and when the 90s rolled around, we bought it one more time on CD. Every time we bought that “album”, a lot of money changed hands.

The artist got a few pennies, the composer got a few, maybe the musicians got some, the publishing house got some, and the record company who produced and distributed the actual piece of media got paid, too. When the same album came out, yet again, in an MP3 format, everyone was paid again.

There is a type of music that can be downloaded without paying anyone a cent - MP3 public domain music. This type of music is available to everyone to use for whatever reason they want. You can download MP3 public domain music to play at your wedding, to listen to in your car, to accessorize your blog site, or even to sing at karaoke night. Before using what you consider to be public domain music, though, you should verify that it is safe for you to use. Research how to verify that the music is public domain. At the same time, look for ideas on how to use it for profit.

MP3 public domain music is not pirated or stolen music. It is music that has been transferred to the public domain either because its license has expired or because its origins are unknown. Older compositions by classical artists are generally considered public domain. Nursery rhymes, national anthems, and many songs from early in the 20th century are considered public domain. Every day, more and more songs have their license expire and they are moved into the public domain.

Anyone who has ever created a blog or put together a posterboard presentation for school knows that not all art is yours for the taking. Generally speaking, company logos cannot be used without the permission of the company. There are typefaces that are so recognizably linked to a company that they cannot be used (Coke, Disney, Hershey’s, Budweiser). There are also pieces of art - specifically art produced in the 20th century and later - that is linked to a living, breathing artist who has the legal right to a royalty for every time his or her work is displayed or reproduced.

An alternative to this type of art which is called royalty art, is something called public domain art. Public domain art is any artistic piece that can be used freely by any member of the public. Public domain art becomes public domain for several reasons. In some cases, a drawing, sculpture, or painting cannot be linked to a particular artist. Any depiction of “King Tut”, for instance is royalty-free because no one knows exactly who crafted the King Tut statue. This is public domain art.

Some art is not so easy to identify as public domain. For instance, small graphics used to brighten up websites may be used by many people, but that does not mean they are public domain. So, going to a site such as Public Domain Empires will help you identify which art is free to use, which requires a royalty and permission, and it also shows you how to create a profit by using this kind of art.

Using art without the permission of the artist is both unethical and illegal in most cases. However, using public domain art means that you can use the art however you wish, alter it if you want, and create a final product that you can sell for profit.

If you have ever been in an elevator, sitting in a doctor’s waiting room, or walking through a mall, you have no doubt heard some music playing softly over the speakers. Sometimes it is a well-known song that you can’t put your finger on. Maybe it is something traditional or classical, or just a very old tune that even your grandmother would know. That kind of music is public domain.

The term “public domain” is used to refer to music (and other art forms) that can be used freely by anyone for any purpose. A song that is not public domain cannot be used by you on your website or your blog. A song that is not public domain cannot be sung by a wedding singer or strummed on your guitar for profit. When you use a song that belongs to someone else, you have to pay them.

A lot of people choose to ignore the legal aspects of downloading music, but if you want to do it ethically and legally, you can download public domain music. There are a lot of places to do this. All you have to do to get your hands on the pie is look for listings of places where you can download public domain music as well as other pieces of artistic expression such as audiobooks, graphics, and software.

One of the nice things about public domain work is that once you download it and alter it in any way, it is yours. By altering the music or book, you have created a new piece of art which can require others to pay you royalties. In this way, if you download public domain music, you can use other’s original work (and a little of your own) to create a product that you can sell for profit.

Most people, at one time or another, will have to produce some kind of multi-media presentation, either for school or for their job. If you are a salesperson or business owner, you probably do this all the time. A basic multi-media presentation includes not only your own written words, but maybe a few quotes, a couple of graphics, some nice music, or a film clip or two.

However, if you are downloading any of these items from the internet, there is a good chance that you are violating both United States and international copyright laws. That clip from a Beatles tune, or that quote from Martha Stewart’s latest book are owned by the author - and you can’t use them without authorization. You also can’t use them without paying royalties.

So, if you are creating presentations, and you are looking for film clips, free public domain movies are a necessity. Free public domain movies are also a fun thing to add to your MySpace page, your blog, or your website. This kind of vibrant content can make an otherwise dreary site come to life. Where do you look for public domain movies? Look for listings which tells you how to find public domain content, how to make sure it is free for your use, and how to republish it under your own name for profit.

The types of free public domain movies that you can have access may actually surprise you. Film clips that you have seen for years on television are sometimes public domain, as is a lot of old news footage. In addition, independent producers and individuals with video cameras place their work online intentionally meant to be public domain in order to get their work seen by the most people possible.

Everyone knows someone who has an iPod that is full of songs that they never bought - they downloaded them for free from the internet. Everyone has also visited a website that is littered with photos of celebrities or extravagant graphics.

The songs on that iPod, and the photos and graphics in most cases are pirated. And, as such, they are illegal. Some people may argue that the internet is one big “free for all”, but in order for artists to continue producing the work we all love, they must be paid for it. Internet pirating takes away a lot of an artist’s profit and reduces the opportunities for legitimate artists to make a living.

However, there are ways to download great music, copy cool graphics, and even listen to famous books in audiobook format without stealing. This type of media is known as public domain (PD). Now, following this definition, media is work that has an expired license (for example, it was created more than 50 or 100 years ago), it is a traditional song or piece of art, or it is a piece of music or art that was intentionally created to remain in the P.D.

The only reliable way to make sure you are using PD work is to access a verifiable list. Such a list should show an accurate listing of places to find PD pieces that are free for you to use. Not only can you use pieces from a public domain list for your own enjoyment, but you can also use them for profit.

A website such as Public Domain Empires shows you how to use non-copyrighted work in the work you are already creating, and use it for profit. Making sure you are using PD art or music and not work that belongs to others is vitally important in making sure your business is free from potential legal prosecution.

W.M Heus can do three things very well; write, create products using public domain sources, and then do both several times over. He is an expert on public domain sources and his website EarnWithDomains-Blog.Com provides stacks of information on public domain list and more. Check out the site for more info!

Don’t take this step lightly. It is important to take the time to do this step right, even if it takes days. At a minimum, sleep on your choice overnight. It is painful to change your domain name down the road.

First of all, you want your domain name to be congruent with your brand.  You want it to get top search engine results. And YOu want it to generate maximum web traffic.

I personally like to brainstorm with a couple of people for this activity. Each person says every domain name that comes to their mind, no matter how crazy it might seem. It’s actually kind of fun. Make a long list of potential names. Then take a break and come back a day or so later and list any new ideas people came up with.

Now go through and eliminate domain names that are already taken. GoDaddy (www.GoDaddy.com) can provide this information. Many of your best ideas will probably be taken, which is why this step can be difficult. Of the remaining names, eliminate ones that you don’t like. Now eliminate domain names that don’t meet the guidelines below. With the remaining names, vote to determine a winner.

Avoid these 5 common domain name mistakes:

    1. Not getting a .com extension. Don’t settle for .net, .info, .ws, .bz, etc. If the .com version is not available, pick a different domain name.

    2. Not registering variations of the domain name such as plural and hyphenated versions. If you don’t, your competitors will and they will steal some of your traffic. Domain names are ~$10 per year, get

    3. Picking a name that is difficult to spell or say. When you tell someone your domain name, there should be no ambiguity in how to spell it, and they should be able to remember it easily.

    4. Not using your main keyterm in your domain. You’ll get a higher relevance score from the search engines if your main keyterm is in your domain name. Higher relevance means more traffic. Use the google keyword tool(https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal) to find a good keyterm.

    5. Not owning your name. In addition to any other domain names you purchase, make sure to get your name in the form FirstLast.com. If you have a common name you may have to get creative and use your middle initial or middle name as well. Even if you don’t need your name right away, it’s better to get it before someone else does.

Your domain name is a very important aspect of your online wealth generation machine. Do proper research and avoid these 5 domain name mistakes. The time you spend to pick the right domain name is worth it’s weight in gold.
